Maggie LaBarbera, MS, LAC 

Maggie LaBarbera is a compassionate Licensed Associate Counselor who prioritizes creating a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive therapeutic environment. She emphasizes trust, respect, empathy, and individualized care to help clients heal, grow, and feel understood. Maggie collaborates with clients to set goals and tailor interventions that meet their unique needs, fostering a space free of judgment or shame.

Specializing in child and adolescent treatment, Maggie supports families in navigating social, emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges. She addresses issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use by strengthening parent-child attachments and addressing dysfunctional family patterns. Maggie also provides psychoeducation to parents, equipping them with strategies to better understand and support their children.

Maggie’s experience in addictions counseling informs her work with adolescents struggling with substance use. By blending person-centered and reality therapy, she helps clients resolve immediate challenges, take responsibility for their behaviors, and develop healthier coping mechanisms.

In addition to her therapeutic practice, Maggie has led psychoeducational support groups for parents of neurodiverse children through Friends Grow Friends. She facilitated connections and provided access to experts and resources for families navigating Autism, ADHD, ODD, Dyslexia, and more.

With significant knowledge of IEPs, 504 Plans, and Individualized Service Plans for K-8 children, Maggie is skilled at advocating for clients and guiding families through educational challenges. Her holistic approach empowers children, adolescents, and their families to build resilience, improve relationships, and thrive.
